Who is FødevareBanken?

Our mission is to fight food waste and food poverty through daily distribution of fresh surplus food to organisations working with people in need. We are more than 270 volunteers in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Kolding. Last year we saved 1.377 TONS food which instead became over 3,45 million meals.

FødevareBanken means Food Bank in danish.

Become a volunteer at FødevareBanken!

As a volunteer in FødevareBanken, you are from day one involved in doing something good for others and at the same time fighting food waste! 🚛 🍏 ♻️ Wanna hear more? Then the next step is to sent a email to: asj@foedevarebanken.dk
Then we will invite you to cup of coffee and get to know us better.

What do our volunteers do?

As a volunteer your shift starts with packing the truck with surplus food from our donors together with your co-volunteer.

Then you drive off to distribute the food to social organizations, such as shelters and crises centre.

You will always be well received by the kitchen staff – sometimes with a good cup of coffee and some smalltalk.
If you want to be a driver, you just need a regular driver’s license.

The trips take approx. 4-5 hours and you must be prepared for physical work and some lifting involved.
